Patient Services

Our goal is to help you maintain excellent oral health, and to keep you as comfortable and satisfied as possible. If you are nervous about your upcoming procedure, we can calm your fears by educating you about your treatment, listening to your concerns, and providing you with conscious sedation.

Our Services:

Third Molar/Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth, or third molars, are the chewing teeth found in the back of the mouth and  appear in your late-teens or early twenties. When you have enough room in your jaw, these teeth are useful additions to your mouth. Unfortunately, a majority of patients don’t have the space in their jaw needed for these teeth, which can cause their wisdom teeth to grow sideways, become misaligned, emerge only partially, or remain trapped below the gum or in the jaw. When left untreated, this can cause pain, infection and swelling.

If  your dentist advises an extraction of your wisdom teeth, schedule a consultation with Dr. Parnes or Dr. Paredes. After examining your mouth and reviewing your medical history, they will determine the best method for gently extracting your teeth.

Sedation for Anxiety

When we meet our patients, one of the first questions they ask us is “Will my treatment hurt?” We use anesthesia so you won’t feel pain during the procedure. Sometimes, however, this isn’t enough to quell a patient’s fears. If you’re nervous or especially jittery about a treatment, we offer IV sedation to help you relax.

With IV sedation, you will feel extremely relaxed while Dr. Parnes or Dr. Paredes performs your surgery. After the treatment, you will have no memory of the procedure.

Our entire team is extensively trained in anesthesia and sedation. If you think it can help you, talk to Dr. Parnes or Dr. Paredes during your consultation.

Routine Oral Surgery

When we need to perform an extraction, some teeth can be removed in one simple visit. If your teeth are impacted, cracked, or severely decayed, however, more extensive procedures may need to be performed. Fortunately, Dr. Parnes and Dr. Paredes perform these treatments regularly in our office. With their knowledge and experience of routine oral surgery, you can relax, knowing you’re trusting your treatment to caring professionals.

Dental Implants

When you’re missing teeth, your dentist may recommend dental implants. These permanently restore the look and feel of your natural teeth. During your treatment, Dr. Parnes and Dr. Paredes will place one or more small titanium cylinders in your jaw. These act as substitute tooth roots to hold a replacement crown, bridge, or denture in your mouth. Not only do dental implants restore the look, feel, and function of your teeth, but they are a conservative treatment that can improve your health and your ability to eat, speak, and smile.

Orthognathic Surgery

Pain in your jaw or difficulty chewing or swallowing could be a sign that your jaws have grown into an improper position. In this case, your general dentist may recommend orthognathic surgery. During this surgical procedure, Dr. Parnes or Dr. Paredes will alter the jawbone to correctly align your bite. Not only can this procedure eliminate pain and discomfort, but it also improves the appearance of your face and help your teeth to function smoothly and properly.

Bone Grafting

If you’re suffering from severe periodontal disease, have been living with dentures or missing teeth, or suffered an accident or other trauma, you may have lost a significant amount of bone structure in your mouth. This can be a problem if you’re considering other dental treatments, such as dental implants.

When you’re missing bone structure, Dr. Parnes and Dr. Paredes can perform bone grafting surgery. During this procedure, the surgeons will replace the lost bone with bone from your own body or a substitute material. The surgery is effective and can help you restore or enhance the look and function of your mouth.
